Chance Wilson started in 2008, finding his way into filmmaking through the Staple House collective — a group of creatives who were making things before the infrastructure existed to support them.
In 2013 he joined Luti Media, where he spent eight years developing his craft across music videos, branded campaigns, commercials, and cinematic production. That period shaped everything: the discipline, the instinct for story, the understanding of how to work inside a machine while keeping your own vision intact.
During that time he founded The Collective — a creative network built on the principle that independent storytellers are stronger together than apart.
He worked on the feature film Pandemonium in 2021. The experience of working at that scale, with that ambition, confirmed what he already suspected: the stories he wanted to tell required a different kind of infrastructure.
In 2023 he founded Vantablack Studios.
The slate that followed — Breaking the Silence, Quincy, Offside, The Untold Path, The Return of Grime, Witness, Matched — is not a collection of projects. It is a worldview. A commitment to documenting the experiences that mainstream media either ignores or sanitises.
He worked on Turbulence in 2024. The work continues.
